Clinical inputs

years

Allowed range: 18–90 years

Quick picks

60 years or younger scores 0. From 61 through 70 years scores 1.5. From 71 through 90 years scores 2.5.

mg

Allowed range: 10–500 mg

Quick picks

100 mg or less scores 0. From 101 through 150 mg scores 1. Above 150 mg scores 3. The article adds no further points above that.

g/dL

Primary source

Motwani SS et al. Development and Validation of a Risk Prediction Model for Acute Kidney Injury After the First Course of Cisplatin. J Clin Oncol. DOI: 10.1200/JCO.2017.75.7161. PMID: 29320311. C-AKI is a creatinine rise of 0.3 mg/dL within 14 days of the first cisplatin course. The abstract compares age 61 to 70 years and 71 to 90 years with age 60 years or younger, cisplatin 101 to 150 mg and above 150 mg with 100 mg or less, hypertension with no hypertension, and albumin 2.0 to 3.5 g/dL with albumin above 3.5 g/dL. Scores of 0, 3.5, and 8.5 had probabilities 0.03, 0.12, and 0.51. The point weights were read from Table 1 of Saito Y et al. Int J Nephrol. DOI: 10.1155/ijne/6615898, and from Table 1 of the external comparison that prints the same Motwani weights: age 60 years or younger 0, 61 to 70 years 1.5, above 70 years 2.5; albumin above 3.5 g/dL 0, 3.5 g/dL or lower 2; cisplatin 100 mg or less 0, 101 to 150 mg 1, above 150 mg 3; hypertension 2. The 2018 article does not print a probability for every point total, and it does not print a score cutoff. (2018)
