Scoring Mastocytosis (SCORMA) Index calculator
Enter the published formula inputs below to calculate and interpret this score.
Clinical inputs
Allowed range: 0–100 %
Percent of the body surface. A solitary mastocytoma counts as 1% per lesion. Diffuse cutaneous mastocytosis is 100%.
Allowed range: 0–10 points
Visual scale from 0 to 10 for the 3 weeks before the visit. A parent answers when the child is younger than 5 years.

Heide R et al. Clinical scoring of cutaneous mastocytosis. Acta Derm Venereol. DOI: 10.1080/00015550152572912. PMID: 11720175. Figure 1 and the methods print SCORMA = A/5 + 5B + 2C/5. A is the percent of skin involved (0–100). A solitary mastocytoma counts as 1% per lesion, and diffuse cutaneous mastocytosis is 100%. B is one typical lesion scored 0–3 on each of pigmentation/erythema, vesiculation, elevation, and Darier sign (absent, mild, moderate, severe). The four items sum to at most 12. C is five 0–10 visual scales from the 3 weeks before the visit: provoking factors, flushing, diarrhoea, pruritus, and localized bone pain, at most 50. Parents complete the scales when the child is younger than 5 years. The practical formula equalizes each part to 20 and then weights lesion activity by 3, which is A/5 + 5B + 2C/5. The index can run from 0 to 100. The sentence that B ranges from 1 to 12 describes the panel they observed; Figure 1 scores absent as 0. Table I gives means, not a single patient’s C. Patient 9, extent 100 and intensity 10.6, has mean SCORMA 78.6, which is the printed formula when C is 14. The paper does not print risk categories. (2001)
