Clinical inputs
Allowed range: 5–160 mL/min/1.73 m²
The 2009 CKD-EPI estimated GFR in mL/min/1.73 m².
Allowed range: 0.8–3.5 m²
Square meters from the Du Bois formula. The equation divides this area by 1.73.
Allowed range: 0.2–20 mg/dL
Use the same unit family for serum and urine. µmol/L is divided by 88.4 to reach mg/dL.
Allowed range: 1–500 mg/dL
Use the same unit family for serum and urine. µmol/L is divided by 88.4 to reach mg/dL.
Allowed range: 1–600 mmol/L
mmol/L in the spot sample about 2 hours after the intravenous loop diuretic.

Rao VS et al. Natriuretic equation to predict loop diuretic response in patients with heart failure. JACC Heart Fail. DOI: 10.1016/j.jchf.2020.12.022. PMID: 33573739. The 2016 derivation (Testani JM et al. Circ Heart Fail. PMID: 26721915) prints sodium output in mmol = eGFR × (BSA / 1.73) × (serum creatinine / urine creatinine) × 60 min × time constant in hours × (urine sodium / 1000 mL). That derivation first used 2.5 hours and then found 3.25 hours the best fit. The 2021 validation states that the constant 3.25 was the one used. eGFR is the CKD-EPI value. BSA is the Du Bois value in m². Poor response is under 50 mmol in 6 hours, suboptimal is under 100 mmol, and excellent is above 150 mmol. (2021)
