DOI: 10.1371/journal.pone.0245840. PMID: 33481930. Figure 2 assigns respiratory rate 12–20 as 0, 9–11 as 1, 21–24 as 2, and below 9 or above 24 as 3; oxygen saturation above 95 as 0, 94–95 as 1, 92–93 as 2, and below 92 as 3; heart rate 51–90 as 0, 41–50 or 91–110 as 1, 111–130 as 2, and below 41 or above 130 as 3; systolic pressure 111–219 as 0, 101–110 as 1, 91–100 as 2, and below 91 or above 219 as 3; temperature 36.1–38.0 as 0, 35.1–36.0 or 38.1–39.0 as 1, above 39.0 as 2, and below 35.1 as 3; alert as 0 and confused or not alert as 3; air as 0 and supplemental oxygen as 2; female as 0 and male as 1; age 16–49 as 0, 50–65 as 2, 66–80 as 3, and above 80 as 4; performance status 0 through 4. A score above 4 predicted death or organ support with sensitivity 0.98 in the validation cohort. (2021)
