Clinical inputs
Do not use HCM Risk-SCD after prior aborted sudden cardiac death or sustained ventricular tachycardia/ventricular fibrillation. The model is also not validated after septal reduction therapy, in elite athletes, in metabolic or infiltrative diseases, or when LVOT obstruction is purely exercise-induced.
Validated maximum wall-thickness range is 10.0–34.9 mm. Do not calculate HCM Risk-SCD when maximum wall thickness is ≥35 mm.
Enter the maximum resting or Valsalva LVOT gradient, as applicable. Do not use a gradient caused purely by exercise-induced LVOT obstruction.
